 El verbo modal "can" se utiliza en inglés para expresar habilidad, posibilidad y para hacer solicitudes o peticiones informales . Por ejemplo, cuando decimos "I can swim" , indicamos una habilidad; al decir "It can rain later" , hablamos de una posibilidad; y con "Can you help me?" , realizamos una solicitud. Es importante recordar que "can" no cambia con el sujeto (I, you, he, she, etc.) y siempre va seguido de un verbo en su forma base, sin "to".
